Entry requirements

  • The prospective learners are expected to be 18 years or more to be eligible for admission to this course.
  • Level 3 or 4 IBT Diplomas in relevant disciplines.
  • Level 4 diploma or it's equivalent in any field with quantifiable experience in the domains of hospitality or tourism.
  • The learners who are from non-English majority geographic locations are mandated to produce proof of language skills. IELTS ratings of 5.5 or its equivalents are desirables. The learners could look for English language tests in IBT authorised centres as well.

Qualification structure

This course accommodates six units that need to be passed to be eligible for the award of diploma certification. The mandatory units consolidate to 120 credits as depicted in the following table.

Assessment

The assessment will be carried out internally for all units. All the performances are evaluated by coursework. This may include staff observations, practical projects and production of portfolios. There is no formal examination for any of the units.

Learners will assess by their course work and assignments. Students will make sure to meet up the assessment criteria attached with each unit to the appropriate standard for the level of the unit.

Diploma certificate will be awarded following to the candidate's course work. This provided only after the checking and verification of qualified tutor and the confirmation of an external verifier. Candidate must pass all the seven units to get awarded and also a minimum of 40% marks in each unit.

The level 5 diploma course will instil a critical understanding of the theoretical models and strategic concepts that are innate to the functionality of the tourism and hospitality sectors. Level of attainment

Learners who meet the requirements for the qualification will be awarded a pass. The qualification itself is not graded. For each unit learners will be marked out of 100 and will be graded as follows.
