IBT Qualifications Level 4 Certificate in Project Management explores the basic steps to project management. The program in project management provides a clear knowledge to achieve the predetermined criteria and goals within the specified time. After successful completion of Level 4 Certificate in Project Management, learners would be able to understand different types of project management. This qualification helps the learner to apply different approaches in project management.

This qualification enables the learner to use several techniques in project management to focus on the outcome from the projects acquired. This program makes the learners to use the strategies in an efficient manner.

Entry Requirements

  • Any Level-3 Qualification
  • Higher Secondary Education or similar
  • Mature students require a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • International students whose first language is not in English, they will need to have a score of 5.5 or above in IELTS Examination or equivalent. Students can alternatively take an English test conducted by IBT’ approved centres.


The Qualification is designed with the combination of research techniques and specialized modules in management context. Learners will need to complete all units to complete the Level 4 Certificate in Project Management with 120 credits:

Learning Objectives

After successful completion of this qualification, learners will be able to:

  • Understand the basics of Gantt charts, Critical Path Analysis and PERT
  • Understand the important project management terminology, methodology and the importance of project manager
  • Understand the causes of failures in projects and ways to avoid such failures
  • Understand the productiveness of project management
  • Understand the way to introduce a project plan with effective feasible techniques

Assessments and Award

The delivering Centre will internally assess all units. Assessment is by a combination of course works and assignments. Students will need to show that they meet each of the assessment criteria detailed within each unit, to the required standard for the level of the unit.

Certificates will be awarded following assessment of the candidate’s course works. A qualified tutor will examine the evidence and make a decision, which is verified by the external verifier and passed for certification. To be awarded the certificates, candidates must pass all the 6 units. Candidates need to achieve 40% mark in order to pass each unit.

Level of Attainment

Learners who meet the requirements for the qualification will be awarded a pass. The qualification itself is not graded. For each unit learners will be marked out of 100 and will be graded as follows.

A+ 75%+ Higher Distinction
A 65% – 74% Distinction
B 50% – 64% Merit
C 40% – 49% Pass
D 30% – 39% Marginal Fail
E 15% – 29% Fail
